Tulsi Gabbard to make two stops in Iowa City on Tuesday

IOWA CITY — U.S. Rep. Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii, a 2020 Democratic presidential candidate, will make two campaign stops in Iowa City on Tuesday.

Gabbard is scheduled to hold a meet-and-greet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Yotopia Frozen Yogurt, 132 S. Clinton St., and a veteran’s talk from 2 to 3 p.m. at Carpenters union Local 1260, 1008 Wiliam St., Suite 101A.

Gabbard last stopped in Iowa City in February on a three-day visit to Iowa. During her event, she defended meeting with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in 2016 and promoted a platform of Medicare for all and criminal justice reform, among other issues.

A third event Tuesday is scheduled at 6 p.m. in Muscatine at Missipi Brewing Company, 107 Iowa Ave.

On Wednesday, Gabbard will have more stops in Eastern Iowa, with an 11 a.m. talk at Revelations Cafe in Fairfield, 112 N. Main St., and a 6:30 p.m. event in Burlington at Burlington Bent River Brewing Company, 500 Jefferson St.
